What is minaudière?

Minaudière is also called box clutch and is commonly used at formal events. In 1927 Charles Arpels proposed an alternative for clutch: rectangular metal purse-box contain all the necessary for the evening and itself look like jewels. Since then, minaudière is one of the symbols of the art deco, along with low-waisted dresses, fringe and graphical prints.
I selected for you box clutches from the shows of S/S 2012. Enjoy!
