WGSN recently put out a free report on the upcoming denim trends inspired by "unearthed denim relics and the American Deep South." According to WGSN, we can look forward to very relaxed fits and worn in styles, with a bit of an androgynous look. What do you guys think of the rugged and worn denim look?
The trend is very much inspired by a vintage-America, even overalls are making a comeback in baggy, loose-leg styles and with classic detailing.
Shredded, patch repair, and stitch repair detailing are also outlined in the trend report. The rugged detailing falls in line with the high texture, worn-in look. It also adds to the overall DIY vibe we get from this trend.
The pattern and floral trends from spring have clearly translated to denim in handkerchief ecru/indigo patterns and faded and/or over-dyed florals.
The report also mentions pre-war pockets, traditional cinches, and aged leather looks. You can download a full copy of the report here.
