Shop Día de los Muertos Flowers in the LA Fashion District

The "Flower of the Dead" is in full bloom at the LA Flower District (located in the LA Fashion District). The Cempasúchitl marigold, a bright orange flower, is traditionally used to decorate altars commemorating the dearly departed during the Día de los Muertos holiday. Día de los Muertos is celebrated annually on Nov. 1-2 by many Mexican families, with colorful altars full of marigolds, delicious food, and sugar skulls.

Marigolds can currently be found throughout the Flower District. At the California Flower Mall, marigold bouquets are being sold 2 for $5 or $25 for a larger bunch (seen below wrapped in brown paper). You'll find marigolds in almost every flower shop, but we found Sonia's Flower, Suite 105 inside the California Flower Mall to have one of the prettiest and most affordable selections. They will deliver to your home as well!

Unlike the Flower Marts, the California Flower Mall does not charge an entry free and stays open until 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. However, we stopped by around 5 p.m. on a Thursday and they were still open.
