New Restaurants Opening in LA Fashion District

It seems the Fashion District is suddenly turning into quite the dining hot spot, with two new restaurants preparing to open in our district: The Parish and Amante Pizza and Pasta.

Amante Pizza and Pasta just signed a lease for space in the C building at the California Market Center. The Seattle-based gourmet pizza chain is scheduled to open by August 2012. Amante currently only has two locations outside of Washington, one in Arizona and another in Maryland. Needless to say, we are very excited to have them in our district.

Along with the traditional pizza topping combinations, Amante offers a couple unique pizza options:

Amante Special: prosciutto, Italian sausage, red onions, mushrooms, black olives, fresh basil and shredded pepperoni

Thai House: olive oil and garlic base, chicken breast, spinach, green peppers, and red onions topped with spicy Thai peanut sauce and fresh cilantro

Muchacho: taco meat, salsa, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, green peppers, jalapenos, topped with sour cream

Morning Glory: olive oil base, mozzarella cheese, eggs, bacon and sausage

where The Parish will open.

As you may have already heard Casey Lane, chef and owner of The Tasting Kitchen in Venice, is opening a British Gastropub on the corner of Spring and 9th Streets, where Angelique Cafe used to be.

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting the gastropub will be called “The Parish” and is set to open in April of this year. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the restaurant will feature Old Hollywood-inspired aesthetics and mixologist John Coltharp, previously of Seven Grand, will be mixing cocktails.
